Numerous agitations have been lined up for this month as social, transport and women bodies served ultimatums to the State Government in pursuit of their respective
demands.
While serving an ultimatum to the State authorities to shift the present officer-in-Charge of Pallel Check/Police Post within November 10, the Imphal Moreh and Imphal-Jiribam Road Transport Association has warned of ceasing passenger bus service on the Imphal-Moreh route with effect from November 11.informing that decision to demand removal of the said OC was adopted in the October 29 meeting of the transport body, a statement issued today contended that the police official named as one Ibomcha Singh frequently impounded goods of his choice.
the meeting also resolved to apprise the matter to relevant authority for appropriate action failing which the agitation would go ahead.
Ultimatum served: Joint Action Committee for Protection of Tamenglong District has served an ultimatum to Chief Minister setting November 14 as deadline for meeting its demands.
The demands of the Committee include protection of the existing boundary of Tamenglong district, reinstating Tousem sub-division to Divisional Forest Office, Tamenglong from DFO, Jiribam and stop survey and settlement exercise in parts of Tousem sub-division.
Setting November 14 as the deadline for fulfilling the demand, the Committee has also warned of taking recourse to calling general strike in Tamenglong district indefinitely until the Government comes up with a positive response.
The ultimatum served to the Government was endorsed by top functionaries of Village Authority Chairman Council of Tamenglong and Tousem zone, as well as representatives of Vangaichungpou, Phaitol, Zeliangrong Women Union, ZSU, Tamenglong.
mayai lambi blockade: Demanding that road maintenance work in between Sekmaijin Mamang Leikai and Terapishak along the Mayai Lambi be expedited within November 9 Hiyanglam Wabagai Terapishak Meirapaibi Lup has threatened to block the route for an indefinite period from the next day onwards in case the proposal do not evoke positive response.
Owing to non-completion of the road repairing works people residing on the roadside or traversing along the route are susceptible to injuries as flying stone-chips due to pressure from passing vehicle tyres are likely to hurt the people, highlighted a
release.
RIMS agitation: To protest alleged deliberate delay in implementing previously reached agreement between authorities of RIMS and technical staff of the institute's Central Sterilization and supply Department, members of the latter have threatened to take mass casual leave for three days in case the said agreement is not translated into action within November 8.Informing that the casual leave agitation starting from Nov 9 will be first phase stir being chalked out by the employees, a statement issued today regretted that inconveniences would be caused to the patient.
Informing that agreement concerns amendment of pay anomaly of the Department's employees, the statement further contended that the technical staff had been deferring launch of the agitation taking into account hardships to be caused to the patients.
