The State Government and NIPCO are all set to conduct the public hearing on construction of the controversial Tipaimukh Multipurpose Hydro Electric project on the scheduled date announced by Manipur Pollution Control Board.
Apart from the affected villagers, no other representatives are likely to permit for taking part in the public hearing.
Talking to The Sangai Express, a top official of NIPCO disclosed that the power corporation has made all the necessary arrangement for holding the public hearing on November 17 at Churachandpur as well as on November 22 at Tamenglong as already announced Manipur Pollution Control Board.
The official further disclosed that the after the seal of the International prebid tender for construction of the project had been opened, the seal of the International competitive bidders would be opened on November 30 at Guwahati.
There are in all 15 firms among the International Competitive bidders including three from Japan, two from China, one from Iran and the remaining ten from India, the official added.
Meanwhile, according to a source no other representatives apart from those who would be directly affected by the project would be allowed during the public hearing.
