Imphal, January 08:
Congress led SPF Government will be able to bring about development in the State only if it is sincere in its work and utilises the fund sanctioned by the Central Government in the right manner, asserted newly elected State BJP unit president and Lok Sabah MP Th Chaoba.
Speaking as the chief guest at the one day workshop-cum-exhibition on Oak Tasar Culture-Reg at Regional Tasar Research Station Mantripukhri today, Chaoba stated that the economy of the State will only improve when there is an all round development in the State and added that development will come when fund are used in the right direction and for the right purpose.
The SPF Government should leave the habit of begging for economic packages from the Central Government and instead look for other avenues to improve the economy of the State, said Chaoba adding that the State Government should first learn to maintain financial discipline before it demands any economic package from the Central Government.
Stating that the Mulberry industry played a major role in reviving the Japanese economy which was shattered by the two atom bomb attacks during the II World War, Chaoba said that Manipur too should take the example of the Japanese and develop the Oak Tasar industry to revive the sagging economy of the State.
Lauding the Japanese Govt for starting a sericulture project in the State, Chaoba appealed to all the authorities concerned to utilize the fund sanctioned for the project in a proper manner and not waste it away.
He also informed that the Sericulture Project is being funded 90% by the Japanese Govt and 10% by the Govt of India.
