Chief minister, O Ibobi in a reply to a question raised opposition MLA Salam Joy in the House of the Manipur Legislative Assembly said that the case of arrest of underground cadres from the official quarters of the MLAs with weapons are still under investigation.
The chief minister further said that there were no such instants of arresting two PULF cadres from the Imphal Airport while trying to catch a flight to other state along with a VIP of the state and apprehension of two MLAs along with one important leader of KCP outfit by the troops of Assam Rifles at its check post opened at Tengnoupal along the Indo-Myanmar section of the NH-39 .
State transport minister, L Jayentakumar said that the complex of the Manipur State Road Transport Co-operation is still lying unused after the liquidation by the state government while giving reply to a question raised by opposition MLA, Ng Bijoy of MPP.
He added that the complex was leased to two private organizations on June 27, 2007.But the leased period had ended on August 9, 2008 .
The minister further said that when inspected the complex recently by an official team led by transport directorate, many private encroachers were found constructing kacha structures.
In May of this year, the minister himself went to Dimapur and held consultation with his counterpart Nagaland transport minister for eviction of the encroachers.
But the same could not be converted into action due to some inconveniences.
His department is planning to take up the eviction work after the Assembly session concluded, Jayentakumar added.
In reply to another question raised by N Mangi of CPI, state forest minister, Th Debendro said that as per the census report conducted by the Wild Life Institute of India in 2003, the total number of Sangai at Keibul Lamjao National Park was 180 .
Out of the total 180, 65 are male, 74 are female while 41 are calf he said adding that till then no census held so far.
