Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today admitted on the floor of the Assembly that many under-ground activists have been arrested and arms recovered from the quarters of some MLAs in Babupara.
In response to the queries posed by MLA Salam Joy, during the question hour session of the Assembly today, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, however, denied re port of two MLAs being arrested along with some KCP leaders by Assam Rifles at Tengnoupal, as well as the reported arrest of one Minister along with a mem ber of PULF while trying to board a flight by Police Commandos.
In response to a question raised by MLA Th Nandakishore, Forest Minister Th Debendra informed that House that here are 131 various vacant posts of direct recruitment in Forest Department and three posts of Technical Assistant in the Environment and Ecology Wing.
In response to another question asked by MLA T Mangibabu, Debendra census of Sangai in Keibul Lamjao National Park would be conducted on receiving the permission of the Wild Life Institute of India.
As per the 2003 census, there are only 180 Sangai in Keibul Lamjao including 65 adult male Sangai and 74 female and 41 of fawns.
These vacant posts would be filled up once the restriction on direct recruitment imposed on the Government of Manipur is lifted, the Minister assured.
Transport Minister L Jayantakumar, in response to a question of MLA Dr Ng Bijoy informed the House that the complex of the MSRTC at Dimapur is lying without being put to any use after the liquidation.
The Minister further informed the House that the lease agreement signed with some private organisations have expired on August 9, 2008 .
He also assured necessary action to put reportedly construction of some structures along the side of the complex in consultation with Nagaland Government.
