The proposed indefinite ceasework stir of the Trained Nurses' Association of India, RIMS Unit has been put off following an understanding with the RIMS authority.
However, RIMS nurses refrained from discharging their duty today till 2.30 pm.
Only contract basis nurses and nurses who were regularised only recently attended to their duties.
On the invitation of RIMS authority, Trained Nurses' Association of India, RIMS Unit held a meeting with RIMS authority this afternoon.
The meeting held at the office of RIMS Medical Superintendent was attended by the Medical Superintendent, Chief Account Officer, Dean of RIMS and Deputy Medical Superintendent.
The Trained Nurses' Association of India, RIMS Unit was represented by the Nursing Superintendent, Administrative Officer, secretary, president, joint secretary and other members.
The two sides struck an agreement on payment of appropriate allowances and grade pay to the nurses in accordance to CCS (Revised Pay) 2008 .
Following the agreement, the nurses returned to their duties at about 3 pm.
It was also agreed that required drugs, soaps, bed sheets, pillow covers, cotton and bandage for patients will be made available in RIMS in sufficient quantity soon.
On providing free investigation to inpatients of RIMS, the two sides agreed to wait for sometime as such initiative would need consent of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Trained Nurses' Association of India, RIMS Unit secretary H Tampha said that the proposed cease-work strike has been put off for sometime in the interest of RIMS patients.
In case the points agreed today are not implemented within June, a reminder will be sent to the RIMS authority in the last week of June before the nurses launch their course of action, Tampha added.
