The All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AMN) has deeply mourned the tragic bus accident that occurred at Sangrungpang village, Tamenglong on May 7.Taking serious note of the mishap, AZSU has also decided to enforce roaster system for buses plying on Imphal-Tamenglong route.
In a press release, the student body expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who joined and helped in evacuating injured victims as well as dead bodies.
The AZSU also thanked the Governor, the Chief Minister, MLAs Khangthuanang Panmei, Awangbou Newmai, MPCC president Gaikhangam, 11 AR, Police Department, CO 5th MR, AMUCO and the concerned Government officials and NGOs who provided aid to the victims in different ways.
It also extended its gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong district as well as to different Zeliangrong leaders.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting attended by the Zeliangrong Student Body Join Chorus and the Joint Forum for Transport Welfare Tamenglong district and various other Zeliangrong civil organisations at the office of DC Tamenglong on May 9 has decided to enforce a stringent roaster system on buses plying along Imphal-Tamenglong route.
Moreover, buses plying on NH 53 and IT Road illegally will be banned.
Joint Forum For Transport Welfare, Tamenglong asserted that no buses should be overloaded and the conditions of vehicles should be maintained properly.
The transporters should also follow the Motor Vehicle Act strictly.
