A team of Manipur State Assembly's Hills Areas Committee will assess overall conditions of the temporary relief camps being set up in tousem sub-division of Tamenglong district to house displaced Zeliangrong people.
Many families belonging to the Zeliangrong community are taking shelter at these camps in the aftermath of onslaughts perpetrated by the militant group DHD (Jewel) in North Cachar Hills of Assam State.
According to a source in the tamenglong district administration an eight member HAC delegation led by the Committee's Chairman Thangminlien Kipgen would visit the relief camps from June 23 to 25 to take stock of the existing condition.
The source further maintained that infection of some refugees by outbreak of measles at the relief centres have been put under control with a medical team stationed there and monitoring the situation to prevent any diseases.
