Health Minister Gaikhangam said Manipur Nursing Council Act 2005 will be enacted soon after framing its rules and regulations.
Responding to a query raised by Dr Ng Bijoy during question hour of the Assembly session yesterday, Gaikhangam informed that a bill to this effect was approved by the Governor after it was passed by the Assembly.
A draft rules and regulations of the Act was also framed but it is yet to be finalised.
While observing that one year is too long a period to finalise the draft of the Act, Dr Bijoy stressed on the urgency to enact the Act in view of mushrooming of various nursing schools in the State.
In another poser put up by Dr H Borajao, Science and Technology Minister said that Rs 10 lakhs had been deposited to the companies concerned through DRDA for procuring solar lamps for distributing the same in all districts.
The lamps would be distributed this year after its procurement, he added.
