Condemning the brutal murder of German, an HIV positive teenaged boy, protest demonstration was staged by the members of Society for Awareness of Social Organization (SASO), Manipur Network for Positive People (MNP+), User Manipur, Care Foundation and Bosco Mangal Kripa Foundation on Friday at Keishampat, Imphal.
They also urged the government to take action against the culprits.
It may be recalled that Sanjenbam Noinoisana alias German (18), s/o (L) S.Choudhury and Sanahanbi of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai was brutally murdered and abandoned in Bishnupur district area on April 7 .
Interacting with media persons, Memi, member of SASO revealed that the German was transferred to Child Affected with HIV/AIDS (CHAHA), a rehabilitation centre, in the year 2009 by one of the members of SASO.
He had lost his parents 10 years back.
Since then, he had been looked after.
by CHAHA authority and was under medication, informed Memi.
She also revealed that his relatives not only tortured him physically and mentally but discriminated him as he was infected with AIDS.
His parents reportedly died of the disease.
Eight days prior to his death, his paternal aunty had seized the ART tablets and his uncle had seized the ART card from German for getting the tablets from the ART centre.
German was getting educational support from Bosco Mangal and had filled up the form for High School Leaving Certificate exams, added Memi.
Memi while maintaining that the SASO had been trying to talk with German's aunt several times, she informed that SASO was not able to meet his aunt.
Meanwhile, the members demanded the punishment of the culprits who were involved in the brutal murder of German.
They also urged the government to take up poly programmes for the HIV positive infected people.
