A five day cultural exchange programme organized by Bosco Mangal opened today the Savio hall of the Don Bosco High School, Chingmeirong with director of state arts and culture department, Dr Kh Sarojini as chief guest of the opening function.
Administrator of the school, Rev K Joseph presided over the function which president of the HERICOUN, Rev Y Rehang Chothe attended as guest of honour.
Addressing as chief guest of the function, Dr Kh Sorajoni said that in the state like Manipur where different ethnic communities settle together holding of cultural exchange programme will bring closure tie among the communities which in turn strengthen the love bond.
Lauding the effort of the Bosco Mangal in organising the programme, she appealed to inform the authority of the arts and culture department while organising the programme related with culture and tradition so as the department could extend assistances and co-operations.
She also donated Rs 2500 to the organizers as assistant from her side.
President of HERICOUN, Rev Y Rehang Chothe said that high nationalism among the people of different groups has cause unrest in the state.
People are dragging into the pool of woe by the national ideology.
So, it has been a much to bring up younger generation in the right direction for betterment of future.
He also observed that the initiative taken by the Bosco Mangal to bring cultural integration by organising the cultural exchange programme.
In his presidential address of the function, K Josheph said that culture is the identity of the community.
So, everybody must proud of their own culture.
Presentation of cultural dance and songs marked the opening function of the programme which 31 groups of different ethnic groups are participating.
