Employees of secretariat to go on cease-work strike from today in defiance of dies non order

Manipur government's administration paralyzed Friday as employees of the Manipur Secretariat Service were on mass casual leave as warning to the government to join the cease work strike of the government employees which have completed three months today.
Taking serious note on the latest development in the state administration, with the reported instruction from the Manipur Governor, Gurbhachan Jagat, the secretary to the Governor, RK Nimai has convened a meeting with the leaders of Manipur Secretariat Service today afternoon and took the stoke of the situation.
Working in all the three blocks of the secretariat, North Block, South Block and Ministerial Block were paralyzed as employees absent from their official duties.
The employees took mass casual leaves today as decision taken by the Manipur Secretariat Service Association which would be followed by the cease-work strike from Saturday.
Mass casual leave agitation initiated by Manipur Secretariat Service Association, for the first day for implementation of the sixth revised Central Pay was done successfully at both the south and north blocks of the secretariat campuses including the ministers' block, a statement of the association dispatched today said.
"The Action Committee of the MSSA has affirmed to continue its cease work strike till a solution negotiation is made/prepared by the government," the unsigned statement handed over to the reporters by the members personally added.
It also rejected government office memorandum issued by the Chief Secretary which warned the employees to apply the principle of 'No work no pay' or die non to all delinquent government officials and said.
the intention will not solve the issue.
"Instead, we are expecting a best solution rather than confrontation," it said reiterating the representation submitted by the MCS Officers' Association incorporation with the Manipur Secretariat Services Association and the JAC (of AMTUC and AMGEO) together.
The joining of the cease work strike by the employees of the secretariat service has boost up morale of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO who stated that all the associations of employees under different departments have decided to intensify the agitation of the employees.
"In meeting held yesterday, we have unanimously resolved to intensify the agitation" reaffirming that the cease work strike will continue until the demand for in toto implementation of the revised sixth pay of the central government be given effective from January 2006, general secretary, L Chandramani of striking JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO had said yesterday.
