A review meeting of the Special Plan Assistance amount for the fiscal 2006-07 which is being kept in the account of the State Government began from today at the Cabinet Room with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair.
The meeting being attended by all the Ministers and Commissioners concerned will continue for three days to discuss the ways and means of utilising the Central Plan Assistance amount of the various Department lying in the Government account.
The departments which were covered on the first day of the review meeting today included Agriculture, Forest, Horticulture, Veterinary, Power and Irrigation.
According to official sources, an amount of Rs 6.80 crores which had been sanctioned for Agriculture, Forest, Horticulture and Veterinary Departments in connection with combating the menace of Bamboo flowering is lying in the Government account while that of Power Department is Rs 15 crores and Rs 24.88 crores for Irrigation.
During the meeting the Chief Minister instructed all the Departments concerned to move the Finance Department for releasing the said amount so that the requisite Utilisation Certificates can be submitted at the earliest possible.
