Imphal, April 16:
The newly elected MLA of Khundrakpam A/C Thokchom Nabakumar will be lobbying hard to the State Government to initiate development works and make up inadequacies in social sector like communication infrastructure, health care facilities etc.
This was disclosed by the legislator himself after making an inspection tour of his constituency today.
During the inspection tour, the RCC bridge at Pukhao Iranpham built over Iril river was found in a dilapidated condition due to lack of any on the part of the State Government and officials concerned to repair the bridge.
MLA Nabakumar had earlier wrote to the relevant authority notifying miserable condition of the bridge.
Moreover, the wooden bridge built over Iroiyotpi canal, connecting Pungdongbam and Dolaithabi was also observed to be in a very bad condition posing risks to the local people.
Speaking to media persons, the MLA conveyed that he would urge the State Government to rebuild the two bridges in line with the requirements of the time.
The MLA also visited the lone community health centre of the constituency at Sagolmang.
Observing the utter inadequacy of the existing infrastructure, the Nabakumar expressed deep concern over the matter.
Assuring the people that he would put his best efforts to install the necessary infrastructure in the CHC, he said that he would provide a water pump to address the problem of water unavailability at the CHC within a short time.
Not only that, the MLA pledged that he would urge the State Government to provide all the necessary infrastructure to Government schools located within the constituency.
