Protest at school gates call given

Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) have jointly appealed to all the schools in Manipur to stage sit-in-protest in front of their respective school gates till 1 pm tomorrow over the Sangakpham bomb blast that killed five people including two students and injured eight others.
Addressing a press conference jointly at the office of KSA here today, assistant secretary general of DESAM Arambam Thoi-thoi and vice president of KSA Th Premananda strongly condemned the Sangakpham bomb blast that claimed the lives of five people including two students and wounded eight others in the afternoon on August 1 .
The two students, namely Chingtham Neha alias Apik of Sangakpham Awang Leikai and Philaso Awungshi of Marao village under Phungyar sub-division, Ukhrul, both studying in class 3 at Chingmeirong Primary School, were returning from school when they lost their lives in the blast.
Killing of two innocent students and three other civilians and causing injuries to eight other people in the bomb blast that took place in the crowded Sangakpham Bazar area deserve strong condemnation, the two student leaders said, while appealing to all the schools in Manipur upto to the level of Higher Secondary to stage protest demonstration till 1 pm tomorrow in front of their respective school gates to ring out a strong message against such acts of terrorism.
The two student bodies have also come out strongly against the alleged inefficiency of the intelligence agencies in preventing such blast in crowded areas.
