Authorities have prohibited overloaded and late Tata Sumos from crossing the Moreh Police Check post taking in view the disasters faced by overloaded vehicles and stranding of vehicles that took the route lately on the road.
Some overloaded vehicles were stuck at Moreh police check post yesterday.
However, as an understanding reached between the vehicle owners and the police authority the vehicles were let off.
It may be mentioned that there has been standing notice of respective transporters' unions not to ply the vehicle with overloaded goods.
Moreh police have barred vehicles coming at late hours at the Moreh Police Check post from entering Moreh and crossing the township.
The measure has been taken up in view of the frequent cases of highway looting incidents along the road during Christmas time.
It also a step to ensure that all vehicles, along the road, reach their destinations during the presence of security personnel on ROP duty.
