All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) and Manipur Chemist and Druggists' Association (MCDA) have jointly distributed Lobain capsules required for treatment of drug addiction to 21 different rehabilitation centres.
Even though Lobain capsule is one of the most essential drug regimen in treatment of drug addiction, there has been shortage of this drug in Manipur since October last year after the manufacturing company, DWD stopped manufacturing it.
Speaking at the occasion of distributing this drug AMADA secretary general Phoni Meitei informed that as part of its various activities, AMADA has been ensuring availability of Lobain capsules to the rehabilitation centres.
He also appealed to all concerned for proper utilisation of this drug which is being provided with the collaboration of Manipur Chemist and Druggists' Association.
General secretary of MCDA Dr RK Ratankumar, who was also present at the occasion, explained that Lobain capsule is one of the important drug components required in treatment of drug addiction.
It can not only cure the patients from various associated drug withdrawal syndromes, but also in controlling their mind.
So it has been the objective of AMADA and MCDA to ensure that this drug is misused or abused and it is made available to the right person.
Inao, a service provider of a rehabilitation centre based at Kakching has expressed happiness that the assistance provided by AMADA and MCDA would help in solving the problem of shortage of Lobain capsules in treatment of drug addiction.
