The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) is observing Black Day on November 12 to mark the sacrifice of its cadres at the hands of security forces at different incidents on November 12 .
A statement issued by the secretary in-charge of department of publicity and propaganda of PREPAK, Aheiba Angom pointed out that on November 12, 1978, two PREPAK cadres with a PLA cadre were killed by security forces at a place near Kameng.
On November 12, 1985, leader of PREPAK, RK Tullachandra was killed in an encounter with a team of the 7th MR posted at Kabowakching Sugar Mill.
The day has been observed as Black Day by PREPAK and its red army every year.
Appealing the people to join the outfit in its observance by lighting a lamp at every household, the statement urged all concerned not to organise any festive occasion on the day and join in paying floral tribute to the departed souls.
It also appealed all concerned to renew vigour in fighting the liberation war.
