Deeply concerned over the grievous situation prevailing in the North Eastern region, in general and Manipur in particular a specific session of Baptist Women Fellowship (BWF NE India) members held recently at MBC campus resolved to observe one day fasting prayer on November 29 .
Conveying that the fasting prayers would be observed in all the CBCNEI Churches of the North East region, a BWFNEI statement said at the end of the three-day long programme of BWF attended by 500 delegates from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland it had been resolved to declare 2010-2020 as 'Decade of Women for Change'.
The statement also highlighted that the women delegates expressed deep concern over prevailing uncertainty on resumption of classes in educational institutions as a consequence of the Jul 23 BT Road incident.
Regarding the three day conference, the BWFNEI statement said it was aimed at preparing women to face the present day development situation as equal partners at all levels by sharing and expounding from the word of God (the bible).
Many issues affecting the lives of women were discussed under the sub-themes; God's design as leader, teacher, homemaker, singlehood, business women etc, during the conference, it added.
