A debate competition was organized by 27 Sector AR under the aegis of Red Shield Division at Churachandpur on Oct 27 as a part of Operation Sadbhavna Military civic action programme to encourage the literary Talent of the youths.
Principal of Rayburn College (CCpur) Khen P Tombing, in his welcome address expressed confidence that (he event would highlight the literary talent of the district and conveyed thanks to the 27 Sector AR for their continuous endeavour towards the development of the district.
The participants from six shortlisted colleges of the district represented by two speakers one for the motion and one 'against' the motion presented their views on the subject.
The speakers gave their well researched ideas with convincing reasoning based on their in depth study, a PIB (DW) release said adding that the competitors were adjudged on the basis of content of speech, clarity, diction, delivery expressions and confidence.
The participants and the winners were felicitated by the Commander 27 Sector Assam Rifles.
Addressing the youths, the Commander highlighted that aim of,the debate was to bring forward their views and contribution towards the development of the society.
The general public in large numbers witnessed the competition.
The event encouraged the literary talent and urged all present to take a resolve to contribute in the fight for maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
Children present too were very enthusiastic about such competitions and looked forward to take part in more such events.
