Imphal, October 30 2010:
To review implementation of developmental programmes undertaken in the state under the Special Plan Assistant (SPA) of the Central government, a team led by member of Planning Commission of India (North East) BK Chaturvedi arrived at Imphal today.
On the first day of their three day visit in the state, the team inspected Bishnupur Hospital, various works taken up by Loktak Development Authority for removal of phumdi etc., inspected the Loktak lake and the INA Museum, Moirang where various infrastructure development works are being taken up under SPA.
Chaturvedi along with his entourage Madam Chaturvedi, and advisor (SP-NE) of Planning Commission SN Brohmo Choudury arrived at Imphal airport by IC 213 from New Delhi via Kolkata.
He was received by deputy chairman of State Planning Board, chief secretary, joint secretary (planning) and other at the airport and then proceeded to the Raj Bhavan.
Tomorrow, the team will visit Moreh, and inspect the site for construction of the Integrated Check Post, Trade Centre and Moreh Hospital.
They will be air lifted by a chopper.
On the same day, they will inspect the Thoubal Project.
After coming back they will attend a National Rededication ceremony at 1st MR parade ground, meet with the Chief Minister and hold a review meeting with all administrative secretaries and heads of departments at the Secretariat Conference hall.
On November 1, the third day of their visit in the state, the team will inspect construction of the Capital Project (Assembly and High Court), the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Kangla Fort, JNIMS etc.
and witness the Kut Festival at 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground, official sources said.
The team will leave Imphal for New Delhi in the afternoon of the same day.
