Six families of Maram Bazar who have been rendered homeless after their houses were destroyed by a landslide in September have appealed to the authority concerned to look into the plight.
A team of media persons accompanied by Maram Students' Union functionaries visited the area near Maram IB where many houses were destroyed By the landslide.
- Talking to the media persons during the tour, MKS president said that the six families whose houses were destroyed by the landslide have been taking shelter in neighbouring houses till date.
Highlighting all the woes brought about by homelessness, the MKS joined the appeal to the authority concerned to address the plight of the landslide victims at the earliest.
It is said that properties worth around Rs one crore were devastated by the landslide.
Even as the SDO was approached in time to provide compensation, nothing has been forthcoming till date, he lamented.
Such apathy of the relevant authority has been only multiplying the woes of the villagers, he rued.
