Imphal, February 15 2009:
Two activists of the KCP including a woman activist were nabbed by the security forces from different places, official sources said.
The woman activist named Lhing Thapa (24) daughter of Jone Thapa of Purum, Saogolamang was nabbed by a team of Imphal east police commandos which include ladies police yesterday at around 3 pm from New Chekon Bazar.
During spot verification, police came to know that she joined the KCP organization in the month of October 2008 through one Challamba of the group and involved in the extortion of money from general public, government officials etc.
and also working as courier of grenades/IED for the group, a statement of the SP, Imphal east said.
The other activist of the KCP named Ningombam Romen alias Ingba (41) son of Tomba of Bashikohng Mamang leikai was also nabbed by Imphal west police commandos in joint operation with 28th Assam Rifles today at around 1 pm.
A mobile handset with a sim card seized from him, a statement of the SP, Imphal west said.
