Imphal, February 15 2009:
As part of civic action projects for national integration, the Red Shield Division had organised a tour for the students of various schools of Senapati and Tamenglong districts from 27 January to 14 February in Rajasthan.
Totally 26 students and five teachers, guided by a team of one officer, one JCO and five other ranks from 22 Assam Rifles, had visited different parts of Rajasthan during the tour.
On arrival, the students interacted with GOC of 57 Mountain Division, Major General Shakti Gurung, VSM, today at Division Headquarters at Leimakhong, and expressed their gratitude towards army for organising this valuable and informative tour of Rajasthan.
The GOC was optimistic that the tour will surely help the students to understand the diverse culture of India.
The tour was flagged off on January 27 from Senapati by Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade, Brig NC Badhani.
The tour included visit to cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
