NE students to stage dharna at Delhi

Imphal, November 16: To protest the harassments and assault of NE train passengers at Bihar, students from the North Eastern States will stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi on November 19.A number of student bodies of the North East including the Assam Students' Union, Delhi, All Bodo Students' Union, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union, Delhi, Tripuri Students Federation, Delhi, Manipur Students' Association, Manipur and Naga Students' Union, Delhi, will take part in the dharna.

Amongst others the students have demanded that all the authorities concerned should resign for their gross negligence of duty which led to the assault, resignation of the Union Railways Minister owing moral responsibility, immediate security measures to prevent further abuse of North East passengers passing through Bihar, compensation of all the victims and a high level committee to probe the matter.
