The ATSUM, MSF and DESAM jointly condemned the looting and beating of passengers from north-east states and gang-rape of a student near Jamalpur Railway Station recently.
Such incidents are evidence of looking down on the people of north eastern states which are lacking behind in various fields.
Railway minister Nitish Kumar should take all responsibilities of the incident as it is connected with the railway recruitment.
He should also resign on moral ground, the students' organizations stated.
The people of north-eastern states should fight to keep an equal standard of living as in other states, it added.
The ATSUM, MSF and DESAM shared the sorrows and sufferings of the people; it continued adding that the student community will not remain silent if such incidents take place again.
The All India Students Federation has strongly condemned the incident of looting and beating up of passengers of north eastern states who were traveling in Brahmaputra Mail and Guwahati-Dadar Express at a place in Bihar recently.
The gang party also reportedly gang-rape a minor girl according to a press release issued by the AISF, Manipur state council.
The culprits responsible for the incident should be punished by Bihar government and Union government.
The incident was a result of inadequate deployment of security in railway lines, it alleged, adding that in order to avoid repetitions of such incidents in future, adequate measures should be taken up.
The incident has shocked the whole of north-eastern states, it stated.
The government of India should take necessary preventive measures so that communal flare-ups may not occur, adds the press release.
Meanwhile, the Hindustani Samaj, Imphal, in a press release stated that the residents of Manipur, whose fore-fathers (ancestors) originated/hailed from various parts of Bihar and UP strongly condemned the atrocities, rowdism and goondaism meted to the people of the north-east India in various part of Bihar, particularly near Patna.
"We are shocked to learn that such barbaric and inhuman testament has been given to the innocent passengers hailing from the north eastern states traveling in various trains of the Indian Railways.
Words fail to express our anguish over such treatment, as stated above", it added.
