Inefficient district administration of the State is acting as a hindrance to proper implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, disclosed a highly placed source from the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
The State Government's failure to submit utilization certificate for the funds sanctioned by the Central Government for implementing various schemes in the State is very likely to cause delay in obtaining further installments of the schemes in the State, said the source adding that the concerned authorities have failed to implement the schemes properly due to the appointment of inefficient Dist Administration officers by the State Government and excessive interference of the under ground groups.
Informing that the State Government is yet to begin the development of roads in the State under Package 33 of Prime Minister Gram Sarak Yojana (PMGSY), the source added that the State Government is unable to ask for more fund as it has failed to utilized even the funds sanctioned by the Central Government for 2001-02.The source further informed that funds for implementing various schemes for the development of rural areas have also been released by the centre for the current term.
Rs 2 crores for four dist under Indira Awaj Yojana, Rs 4 crores for six dist under IWDP have also released recently by the Central Government, added the source.
