Education Minister L Jayantakumar has informed that the State Government has started making necessary preparation to bring out a policy to extend various possible assistance to the private schools based on the assessment of their performance.
Participating in the Private Schools' Day observance held under the aegis of All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association at GM Hall here today as chief guest, the Education Minister appreciated the role of the teachers in the private schools and said when it comes to issue of improving the standard of the education system, no difference should be made between the private and the Government schools.
Instead of confrontation, there should be free exchange of thoughts and opinions among the teachers of the private and Government schools and they should work collectively to save education from further deterioration, the Minister observed.
From the side of the Government too, the in-charge system or posts in the Education Department would be abolished.
Instead of this, the seniority list would be prepared and DPC conducted for promotion very soon.
Moreover, the State Government has started making necessary preparations for formulation of a policy to extend every possible assistance to the private schools based on proper assessments of their performance, the Minister
disclosed.
He also released a souvenir and distributed the Best School Awards at the occasion.
Presided by president of All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association Th Shyam Khaba, the observance function was also attended by former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Dr IS Khaidem and Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur N Ibobi as guests of honour.
Principal of Manipur Public School, Koirengei B Santosh Sharma also shared the dais as special guest.
