As an outcome of the One Day District Level Workshop on Child Rights and Campaign Against Child Labour jointly organized by the Participatory Action for Sustainable Development Organization (PASDO), Ukhrul and Naga Peoples' Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Ukhrul Unit held at TTA Conference Hall, Ukhrul, a district network named Ukhrul District Network for Child Rights (UDNCR) has been organized to look into the rights of the child and work against child labour in Ukhrul district.
In a joint statement released by H Thotchuila, Executive Secretary, PASDO and Alung Rungsung, convenor, NPMHR, Ukhrul, it said that the main focus of the network is to work for ensuring that every child enjoys the rights guaranteed by the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child (UNCRC), demand for free and quality education as fundamental right of children upto 18 years of age and address child rights violation in the community.
The network will be a part of Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL), India which is a nationwide network of anti-child labour groups spread all over India.
