As part of MCA project, 19 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 10 Sector provided a rice mill at Oksu village today.
The president of Nongpok Leimarol Chingtam Meira Paibi Memcha Devi and secretary Shanti Devi inaugurated the rice mill during a function attended by more than 200 people.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant of 19 Assam Rifles assured locals that more projects would be undertaken in future for the benefit of the people and requested their constant co-operation to Assam Rifles.
Medical help was also provided to the villagers by 19 Assam Rifles at the occasion.
Medical camp: As part of civic action programme, the 18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs 26 Sector AR conducted a medical camp at Pallel on June 5.A statement release by PIB (DW) said that more than 500 people from Lamkang Centre, Lamkang Khunou, Thamnapokpi, H Kotlenphai, Molnoi, SP Faichang, Wajang, Pallel Bazar, Pallel Khulak, Nungourok, Khangsim, Tuisimi, Beularam, Kangshang, Maipou and Satu villages attended the camp.
The camp was overseen by Col AS Kumarswamy, Addl DIG, 26 Sector AR, Col Deepak De, CO 18 AR.
Arms recovered : Troops of 37th Assam Rifles recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a hide-out in Chalong on June 5.In a press handout, PIB (DF) said that the seizure include one anti-personnel mine with detonator, one Kenwood radio set, on mag each of AK rifle and 9mm pistol, rifle parts, ammunition of SLR, 9mm pistol, M16 rifle and four antennae of radio sets.
PREPAK cadre held : In an operation, personnel of 4 AR apprehended one PREPAK cadre identified as Salam Kameni Meitei, s/o (L) Kesho Singh of Takyelpat on June 5.He has been handed over to Lamlai PS today.
Liquor seized : In another statement, troops of 24 AR seized 18 rum bottles and 12 whisky bottles from a bus at its permanent check post at Khudengthabi today.
Mobile check post of 22 MLI also seized 480 litres of illicit country liquor from Mayang Imphal yesterday.
Both seized liquor has been destroyed in front of local public and meira paibis, it claimed.
