Imphal, Jun 06:
A meeting convened by Heingang United Club's Organisation and attended by representatives of various local clubs and meira paibis including NIUCAMO and NYDO resolved to protect agricultural land stretching from north of Chingmeirong along the NH-39 stretch.
The resolution adopted in the June 4 meeting at Kontha Khabam pledged to oppose any programme to construct educational institutes, factories, security camps etc in the said locations.
It, however, decided to extend cooperation in case plans are afoot to establish factories, schools/colleges and other structures in the adjoining hill-ranges of the highway.
