This was conveyed by commissioner of Art and Culture, P Bhorot speaking as chief guest at the inauguration function of the 15 day long workshop on design and technical development at Kongba Kshetri Leikai organised by the Kongba Kshetri Leikai Handicraft Co-operative Society Limited, stated a DIPR released.
P Bhorot further said that designers should thing of market, its selling place and long lasting of the thing while designing.
He also informed that Centre released Rs 1.80 lakh for handicraft development in the state.
If state government unable to furnish utilization certificates on time, the funds is to be returned expressing the need for honest and keen interest in implementing the programme.
T Rollee Vareishim, assistant director (H), marketing and service extension centre who also attended as guest of honour speaking on the occasion expressed concern over the lack of habit of documentation.
NEC is providing funds in the designing.
It needs to be utlised in correct ways for getting more funds.
Superintendent of commerce and industries, W Birenjit also attended the opening function of the workshop held under the funding of the Development commissioner, Union ministry of textile.
