Relief materials were distributed to the victim families of seven houses of Phaikot village under Kamjong police station of Ukhrul district near the international border pillar no.102 whose houses along with belongings had been destroyed in a fire broke out incident on November 28 last.
The relief materials were distributed to the victim families in a function held at the house of the village chief Thangsei Toudang under the initiative of FREINDS in association with KSO, Chasad block.
Members of FRIENDS, KSO, Chasad block and Kuki Women Union attended the function.
The reliefs provided to them were 130 sheets of GCI roofing and 250 kg of rice.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the KWU, Rose Mangsi said even though news of fire burnt incident occurred at a village heard, none of the organisation think of extending assistance to the misfortune families except FRIENDS that moved proposal.
When misfortune befallen, sharing shock only with word has nothing to do but to show sympathy with work is a must.
Integration could be brought about only when help and assistants to the community befalling the misfortunes.
FRIENDS president, Jadumani Sapamcha said that the body is happy when it can provide at least some relief to the village located at the far border area where no facilities of healthcare service and having no basic facilities is require.
He also observed that for strengthening integrity of the state, balance development between the remote areas and other urban areas.
In the fire broke out incident on November 28 last, houses of Jamkhopao Lahungding, Thangminlen, T Paoneo, T Thangjahao, Daolhun Haokip along all the properties of the families were destroyed.
They were living taking refuge at a makeshift camp constructed by the villagers and with the help provided by the villagers.
They are not getting any relief assistants from the government side.
