Students of LMS Law College together with teachers and staff have condoled the demise of Prof Naorem Sanajaoba.
A condolence meeting was held in the college library today.
In addition to observing two minutes' silence in honour of the departed soul, the late Professor's academic and social contributions were also remembered.
Floral tributes were also paid to the photograph of Prof Sanajaoba.
Later Librarian K Manojkumar inaugurated a newly constructed Post Graduate Students' and Research Scholars' Study Room.
Fellowship of Peace, Bangladesh also held a condolence meeting yesterday and observed two minutes' silence in honour of late Prof Naorem Sanajaoba.
Remembering the immense contributions of the late Professor for Manipuri nation and the human society, the Fellowship of Peace lamented that the demise of Prof Sanajaoba is a big loss not only to Manipuri nation but to whole human society.
It was also Prof Sanajaoba who identified the Manipuri nation for the first time to Bangladeshi intellectuals.
His works on right to self determination of the Manipuri people was a very bold activity, the Fellowship described.
The Senior Citizens for Society has also condoled the demise of Prof Sanajaoba.
The Society hailed late Prof Sanajaoba as a well-known academician, a noted writer, a selfless social worker and a human right activist of Manipur.
They also prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
