Minister Francis inspects DHQ roads, TD girls' hostel

After the inauguration of the new UBI bank at Senapati DHQ, RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa inspected the DHQ roads in different locations.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, SP Kabib, IPS, APO William, AE Saloni and village authority members, the lone second time minister visited TNK Village road and Zaikarii Village road which is undergoing black-topping works under a unique financial management by the District Administration of Senapati.
Expressing his concern over certain portion of the road where the present Post office area has narrowed the Zaikarii road which connects many villages and educational institution, the Minister has instructed the District Administration and officials to initiate necessary actions to settle the matter and broaden the same for black topping works.
He has also proposed a meeting with Civil bodies, village authorities, stakeholders to discuss issues related to the District developments.
Minister Francis also inspected the TD/Hills sponsored girls' hostel which is under construction at District council.
It may be noted that, the DC during the month of November last year had extensively visited most of the settlements and villages within the DHQ town.
However, finding many important areas and locality in the DHQ areas without any proper road and black topped conditions, she assured to repair most of the road by clubbing funds from both DRDA and PWD departments.
Making it one of the first ever activities of drawing funds from local elected members and different departments to develop many IVR roads and villages facilities, the new initiatives masterminded by DC Jacintha has drawn praises from village leaders.
Similar developmental works will be witnessed from installations of concrete dustbins donated by different departments and MLAs in many villages and locations around DHQ town to promote cleanliness and proper sanitation spirit among the people.
