Taking grim note of report that some individuals posing as agents of mobile phone service provider have been trying to woo land owner(s) to share their property for installation of wireless internet tower as well as pay Rs 80,000, the Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills has cautioned the public to remain vigil.
A KSO statement issued by its general secretary Lamcha Chongloi said bringing development to Sadar Hills district is most welcome but the so-called company agents asking for Rs 80,000 to install the facility deserves explanation for numerous towers had been erected in the past with the land/plot owners provided compensation in addition to employing them.
However, information received recently by the KSO that some individuals had been insisting on paying them such a huge amount to erect the tower is a cause for concern to all and that student body would be helpless in case land/plot owners oblige to such an insistence, Chongloi maintained adding that depositing money for the purpose would be the risk of the individual concerned.
