Anti-drugs academic campaign

Continuing their academic campaign against drug abuses in the State, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) and Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) today organised students sensitization programmes at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound, Imphal East and Dhaballi High School, Sekmaijin, Kakching district.
The programmes at the two schools were held under the banner "Lets Stand Against Substance Abuse" to sensitise the students about the harmful effects/negative impact of drug abuses.
The campaign is being held in the schools across the State to bring about a clean society and a clean future.

The programme at the Bal Vidya Mandir was attended by the Principal S Radhi, president in charge CADA Hijam Priyokumar, executive member CADA Takhellambam (O) Purnima and secretary library and documentation AMSU Brojen Longjam as presidium members.
Dipanjit Ningthoujam, secretary general CADA and Mayengbam Budhi, secretary organisation CADA spoke at the event as resource persons.
Speaking the event about the value and importance of the campaign, S Radhi, the Principal stressed that the campaign should be supported by all.
The Governmenr should come forward lend its support and allocate funds for the campaign, he said.
Urging the students to practise the teachings and lessons they learned during the programme, he appealed the students to avoid abusing drugs.
Speaking at the event, H Priyokumar stressed on the collective efforts of all the stakeholders to bring about a clean society free from drug abuses.
Healthy parents/ guardians encouraged their wards to stay healthy and avoid drug abuses.
If the guardians are not healthy and abuses drugs, there is higher chances of their children abusing drugs, he said, emphasising on the role of the parents/guardians in combating drug abuses.
The programme at Dhaballi High School was attended by president CADA Kakching District Committee Sorokhaibam Nena, Head Master of the school Naorem Godhadhor.
Geetchandra Mangang, secretary finance CADA, Ningthoujam Doren, vice president CADA attended the programme as resource person.
