COTA felicitates released teachers

The Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) today felicitated teachers who were sent into the jail in relation with the indefinite hunger strike of COTA in demand of the 6th pay in toto in a function held at the premises of CC Hr Sec School.
Th Ibopishak, Advisor COTA, M Devendro, vice president, AMESTA Wangoi, RL Khongsai, president Hill Districts Teachers' Association, DS Paochikham, president CCpur District Teachers' Association, Indrani, Principal, CC Hr Sec School and T Pramodini, Principal, Ananda Singh Hr Sec School graced the function as presidium members.
Speaking in the occasion, M Joykumar, Convener, COTA stated that COTA withdrew its stir, although the government did not fulfill their demands completely, keeping in view of the prevailing situation of education in the state.
Joykumar expressed gratitude to the various CSOs, student bodies and the teachers who participated in the stir and spent many days in jail.
Certificates and simple gifts were presented to the 264 teachers who were jailed in connection with the fast unto death stir of COTA.
