Imphal, March 08 2011:
Expressing serious concern over the prevailing conditions in the state regarding various issues, the Manipur People's Party (MPP) hit out at the SPF government alleging that CM Ibobi and his government is corrupt.
MPP alleged that the present government had appointed persons who had exceeded their academic age and even two or three persons from a single family in appointing teachers of District Councils.
It further alleged that MLAs and Zilla Parishad members swindled almost 50% of the total amount of MGNREGS works.
There were even cases when the matter reached the court when MLAs and Zilla Parishad members could not settle their sharings.
Only 10% of the total amount of the scheme reaches the target population in the state.
On the issue of regularization of contract employees of DRDA, MPP alleged that the state cabinet took the decision to regularise the contract employees of DRDA who are relatives or close ones of the ministers appointed by producing a fake letter of recommendation by the union minister.
This malpractice was clearly explained in the letter of Jagdish Singh, Director, Ministry of Rural Development to PC Lamkwunga, Commissioner (RD).
Alleging the state cabinet for bringing shame to the state, MPP condemned the act of the government.
