Two GREF labourers were beaten up by some unknown persons who intruded a labour camp at Nungshong Lamkhai under Sangshak police station of Ukhrul district on October 30, a delayed report said today.
Nirmal Tirkey and Silas Keizam were beaten up by the miscreants on the night of October 30, at about 9 pm in their camp located 18 km away on the east of Sangshak Police Station.
Nirmal sustained serious injuries in the assault , the report said.
Meanwhile, a youth who was hit by a bullet fired by armed militants at the Kut festival celebration site at Kangpokpi on November 1 was treated at Kangpokpi Community Health Centre.
Reports said that Thangoumang Lhungdim (25) alias Goupi son of Jampao Lhungdim of Langol Games village sustained bullet injuries when suspected Kuki based militants fired at him around 8.30 pm while the celebration was in progress, the report said.
