17 days MGNREGS not paid in Tamei

All job card holders of MGNREGS in Tamenglong district have been deprived of 17 days' wages for the year 2010-11, according to Village Authority Chairmen Council, Tamei subdivision.
Ch Poujiang, president of the Council alleged that job card holders of the scheme in the whole of Tamenglong district have not been paid 17 days' wages while the same has already been paid in the rest of the other districts.
The Council chief said that the concerned authorities should look into the matter at the earliest so as to relieve the weary villagers of Tamenglong district.
Highlighting the plight confronting the people, Ch Poujiang said that the denizens of Tamei are facing an acute water scarcity problem, bad roads and irregular power supply.
The Council president asked the government to address the plight of Tamei subdivision at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Village Authority Council has lauded the CO and other officials of 10 Dogra Regiment for coming forward in helping the people of Tamei headquarters by supplying drinking water twice or thrice a week.
