Imphal, August 02 2011:
The Churachandpur district Students' Union (CDSU) decried the Manipur Government's unethical move to fix 50 % as the cut off mark for ST to appear in the Teachers Eligibility Test(TET).
CDSU said the move is in total contrast to norms adhered to by all states and union territories complying to the special constitutional provisions and reservations accorded to the ST.
It said the eligibility of aspirants should not be scrutinized based on marks or academic records, but should be on their performance in the Teachers Eligibility Test itself on merit basis the release added.
It also questioned the motive behind setting up of examination centres only in the State capital even though every district has their own ZEO with enough expert man power.
