While the DIPR office is hanging for shifting after the bomb attacks, now the turns of state treasury office, state central library and social welfare offices located next to the Raj Bhavan come up after the blast incident inside the Raj Bhavan on December 21 .
Official sources said that the committee constituted to review the security arrangement of Raj Bhavan has recommended among other to remove the said three offices located nearby the official residence of the state Governor from the present sites among others.
The committee constituted by the state government with additional DGP as chairman in the wake of the bomb blast inside the Raj Bhavan on December 21 at about 5.55 pm made a four-point recommendation in its series of meeting held in the last weekend, the source disclosed.
The state authority is going to make a 30 feet passage in the entire surrounding of the fencing wall of the Raj Bhavan for effective patrolling of the area in the surrounding of the Bhavan which the committee to review the security arrangement at Raj Bhavan wanted and recommended.
The present structure of Central Library and Social Welfare office on the western side of the Raj Bhavan as there is the need for leaving 30 feet free passage from the main roads for effective patrolling round the clock.
There should be isolation barricade of GI pipe having a height of five feet along the free zone abutting the foot-path, the recommendation said.
As the same passage is to be made between the Raj Bhavan fencing and fire brigade, state Museum and treasury office on the northern side of the Bhavan for the same purpose of patrolling, a little bit of earth filling at the fire brigade tank is require.
Apart from this, toilet and kutcha structures within the museum campus will be removed for the same purpose, the source said.
The existing treasury office on the northern side being a public office and is always visited by the public , it should be shifted to other place as all the visiting public cannot be screened, the recommendation said.
The southern side of the Raj Bhavan will also be re-constructed leaving 30 feet from the foot path of Nityapat Chuthek-Keishampat road leaving a space of 30 feet with a isolation barricade of five feet high as recommended by the committee.
The committee further recommended all shops, buildings, structures, hotels etc.
located on the western side of the Raj Bhavan should have no any opening including window, ventilation towards Bhavan side.
The height of the buildings should also be restricted to two including the ground floor.
To mention here, with regard to the said recommendation, authorities of the Imphal municipality has started drive to check the violation of the norms framed by them by the buildings on the western side of the Raj Bhavan from today.
Mention may be made that in the wake of the bomb blast inside the Raj Bhavan on December 21 evening, state government constituted a committee to review the security arrangement of Raj Bhavan by an order of the state government issued on December 23, 2008.
The committee chaired by additional DGP has IGP (law and order-1), chief engineer (PWD), deputy director, SIB, and CASO, CISF, Imphal airport are the members of the committee while SP CID (SB) is the member secretary.
