Imphal, February 25 2015:
Two non-Manipuris from Bihar, who allegedly tried to extract gold from jeweleries using chemicals, were nabbed by the locals of Langthabal Mantrikhong and handed over to police on Wednesday.
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Arambam Rabindra of Langthabal Mantrikhong said that two non-Manipuris identified as Gautam Kumar Soni and Vikram Shah came to his residence and tried to sell something forcibly to his sister-in-law.
However, they tried to flee when he came out of the house after seeing their unruly act towards his sister-in-law.
They pleaded to him to let them go, but he insisted on checking their bags.
Rabindra further said that he found some chemicals along with some brushes and plates in their bags.
He then informed the members of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) and caught the duo for trying to dupe innocent people.
Member of JCILPS Students' Wing Angamba said that the State Government needs to monitor the unrestrained influx of non-locals to the State.
Many fraudsters have entered into the State and they are trying to dupe many innocent people.
He further appealed to all to be cautious against the non-locals, and urged the State Government to enact tough legislation to deal with the migrants.
