Partners' meet on DBI held

Partners' meet on Diversion Based Irrigation (DBI) was organized by Livo Link Foundation, Bhubaneshwar in collaboration with partner-NGOs with the support of Mumbai based Tata Trust today at Classic Hotel.
Addressing a press meet later after the meet today, GM of Livo Link Foundation, Ani Brata said that DBI projects have been implemented in the 9 districts of the State since 2009 .
Manipur and Assam are among the 13 States where the projects are implemented in the country.
An annual partners meet has been held at different places with the objective of sharing experiences on promoting DBI in different parts of the country, Ani Brata said.
The Foundation is working in partnership with Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA) in the State.
DBI project coordinator of RNBA, Ruth Gangmei said the projects have been implemented in 23 villages of
the State.
Construction of canals, reservoirs and fitting pipelines are the works taken up under the DBI projects, Ruth said.
Around Rs 2.23 crore has been sanctioned for the projects since 2009 .
There are 11 NGOs working under RNBA.
The projects have been implemented in two phases so far.
From the next phase beginning 2015, a project to avail revolving fund to water user group would be implemented, she said.
Senior Programme Officer of Tata Trust, Ashok Kumar said that the implementation of the projects in the State is satisfactory.
