Northern Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) or Raphei Students' Union has said that the entire northern Tangkhul villages have been cut off from the rest of the state due to torrential rains recently.
Shimthar A Shatsang, General Secretary, RKL said that the villages which had been cut off are Ngahui, Chingai, Challou, Kuingai, Tusom and other neighbouring villages.
The damages caused by the recent rains are beyond explanation.
In order to show the world that this is a government to look after the needs and welfare of the people, the RKL draws immediate attention of the government to see that the damaged roads get repaired with immediate effect.
Such considerate action of the government would show that at least there is a concern government and there are well-wishers in the state.
The General Secretary of RKL further said that the area has been neglected too much for too long.
He appealed to the authority concerned to take up repairing work on the road that had been cut off immediately to eased the difficulties and agonies being faced the villagers.
The Secretary further remainded the state government that the north Tangkhul villages bordering Nagaland state and Myanmar are an important link with India and international borders of China and Myanmar which can not ignored.
