Polling personnel to proceed for their re-poll duty today

In connection with the re-poll scheduled on February 4 in the 34 polling stations in the hill districts, the polling personnel for Churachandpur district will be leaving for their respective polling stations by tomorrow.
According to source from the Election office, among all the polling stations where re-poll will be conducted, the polling station number 55/1-Chingmun of Tipaimukh A/C under Churachandpur district is the furthest.
The polling station is 320 kms away from the district head quarters, while the polling station number 55/29-Senbon is 250 kms from the district headquarters.
The polling personnel for these polling stations will start leaving from the district headquarters tomorrow.
The polling stations of Ukhrul district where repoll will be conducted are all at a distance of about 40 kms from the district headquarter while polling station number 52/41 of Tamei A/C is 200 kms from the district head quarter.
The source further informed that all the polling stations where re-poll will be conducted have been categorised as hyper sensitive and accordingly security arrangements will also be done, and said that two sections of Para military forces will be deployed in each polling stations.
For this purpose 93 companies of Para military force will be arranged and 13 companies of Para military will also be deployed in the areas where the EVMs are to be kept.
Meanwhile, EVM training for the polling personnel of Ukhrul district in connection with the re-poll on February 4 was conducted at the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul district head quarter today.
18 EVMs will be used in the re-poll in Ukhrul district.
The EVMs will be checked at the Mini Secretariat building complex tomorrow, according to a press statement released by DC, Ukhrul.
The trainings for the polling personnel in Chandel district will also be done tomorrow.
