CPI to chalk out strategies for post poll alliance

In a move to form a new government in the state, the CPI, Manipur State Unit is all set to organize a meeting tomorrow to chalk out specific strategies for post poll alliance with other political parties.
The State level executive meeting which will be held tomorrow at its office at Irabot Bhawan will also be attended by all the candidates who have contested the election on the party's ticket.
The meeting will minutely discuss the strategies for post poll alliance.
It will also discuss the role CPI will play in the next government and also ready itself to form the next government.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Dr M Nara, Secretary, CPI, Manipur State Unit said that no political party will come out with an absolute majority this time and there will be a coalition government in Manipur.
CPI will be a part of the coalition government and serve the people of the state.
He further stated that in the recently held election, not less than 10 CPI candidates will come out successful.
Among these, three candidates from Churachandpur, Chandel and Jiribam sub division will for the first time win the elections and have the chance to serve the people.
Commenting on the issue of post poll violence erupting in the state, Dr M Nara observed that the post poll violence is indeed unfortunate and the State Home Department should look into the matter seriously.
He also appealed to the people to desist from all sorts of violence, forgetting about the past differences and work together to bring about a change and help in forming a good government.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that a meeting was convened yesterday in connection with the formation of a post poll alliance between the Congress and the People's Democratic Front (PDF).
A meeting held at the Chief Minister's Bungalow yesterday chaired by the CM himself discussed the issue regarding the formation of a new government.
It also discussed on whether to form a new alliance or go forward with the SPF government.
The PDF also decided to form the new government with like minded parties, added the report.
