Imphal, April 20 2009:
Playing down the 'integrity' issue rode by several political parties as their poll plank for the coming election 15 th Lok Sabha, Chief Minister O Ibobi today said that that 'integrity' was never an issue for him.
Speaking at an election related meeting today at Changangei under Patsoi AC, Chief Minister Ibobi said that the preceding Congress governments of various states of the North East had drawn the boundaries of the North Eastern states accordingly after identifying and recognising the cultures of the
state.
He asks why the Congress government would re-draw the existing boundaries of the North Eastern states which the Congress had drawn.
Reiterating his stand, Ibobi said that AFSPA will automatically go when the people lives are secure.
Hopeful of the Congress winning both the seats of Manipur, Ibobi audaciously said that the Congress's outer candidate Thangso Baite will surely win by a margin of more than ten thousands votes.
To strengthen the Congress and to enable the government to take up more developmental projects, cast your vote in favour of Dr Meinya, Ibobi appeals.
MPCC President Gaikhangam, who also addressed the meeting, said that people should ensure the victory of the Congress and to strengthen it as it is a party known for its credibility and integrity.
He said other parties are speaking childishly and they will not garner support of the people.
Power Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said that as long as the Congress is in power, no one can disintegrate Manipur.
He also criticised the MPP and CPI candidates.
