Pulling up its sleeves to ensure victory in the coming General Election, the State units of the Communist Party of India (CPI), CPI (Marxist), All India Forward Block (AIFB), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD (S) have on Monday formed the "Left and Democratic Coordination Committee" in their effort to face the coming Lok Sabha election jointly.
The Coordination Committee was formed after a deliberate discussion during a meeting held today at the Irawat Bhavan here with representatives of the all five parties.
The meeting was also reported to have discussed the line of attack for the parties to ensure the victory of its common candidate in the inner seat apart from discussing the candidate to be supported by the parties in the outer seat other than the Congress and BJP candidates.
Briefing media persons after the meeting, Senior leader of CPI and Health Minister, Ph Parijat said that that there is no likelihood of the BJP and the Congress coming back to power at the Centre while also predicting the probability of a third front government led by the Left.
He said that the parties will decide on a candidate who is competent for the general interest of the state in the outer while hoping that the parties' inner candidate, Dr M Nara will get the people's mandate.
Speaking on the occasion, the common candidate of the five parties, Dr M Nara expressed optimism to win the election given the faith of the people put on him.
He also assured that the problems of the state will be highlighted in the Parliament and he will exert his level best to solve the problems if he gets the mandate of the people while also expecting a third front government led by the Left at the Centre.
